Privacy and Directory Settings
Control who can find you in the ResiPage directory, manage contact access gating, and take your page offline when needed.
Understanding Your Privacy Controls
ResiPage gives you several layers of control over your privacy — from whether your page is publicly accessible at all, to whether your contact details are visible, to whether your profile appears in directory searches. Here is a summary of each control.
Live / Offline Toggle
The Live / Offline toggle in the dashboard top bar is the master switch for your public page. When set to Offline, anyone visiting your ResiPath URL sees a placeholder page ("This page is currently offline") instead of your resume.
This is stored as isPagePublished on your profile. It defaults to Live when you first subscribe. You can toggle it as many times as you want with no effect on your content or settings.
Contact Access Gating
Your phone number and email address are always private on your public resume — they are never shown in plain text to anonymous visitors. Instead, your resume displays a "Request Access" prompt. Here is the full flow:
- A visitor clicks Request Access on your public page and submits their name and email address.
- You receive an email notification, and a green badge appears on the Contacts link in your dashboard sidebar.
- Go to Dashboard → Contacts to review pending requests. You can Approve or Deny each one.
- Approved visitors automatically receive an email with a unique link. Opening that link reveals your phone number and email on your public page.
Contact gating also applies to the PDF download button on your public page. Unapproved visitors see a locked button; approved visitors can download your PDF directly.
Public Directory Settings
The ResiPage directory at resipage.com/directory is a public, searchable listing of member resumes. It is crawled by Google, which means appearing in the directory increases the chances of your profile showing up in name-based searches.
Directory listing is on by default for all members. To control it:
- Go to Dashboard → Account.
- Find the Privacy card.
- Toggle Show in Directory off to opt out. The change is saved immediately.
When you opt out, your profile is removed from the directory browse and search results. Your ResiPath URL still works as before — opting out only affects the directory listing, not your page's visibility to people who have your direct link.
Data Retention and Deletion
You can delete your account entirely from Dashboard → Account by clicking Delete Account. This permanently removes:
- Your ResiPage account and all login credentials
- All resume content (experience, education, skills, portfolio, etc.)
- Uploaded photos and files
- Analytics history
- Contact access requests
Account deletion is irreversible. Your ResiPath becomes available for someone else to claim. If you only want to take a break, canceling your subscription (and leaving the account intact) is a safer option.
