Designing with the Canvas Builder

The Canvas Builder is a free-form, drag-and-drop editor for building a one-page resume site from scratch. Where a template gives you a fixed structure to customize, the Canvas gives you a blank page and a box of designer-made blocks. It is a Pro feature.

Opening the Canvas

1. Go to Theme in the dashboard sidebar.
2. Switch the mode toggle from Template to Canvas.
3. Click Open Canvas Editor.

The editor opens full-screen. Blocks live on the left, your page in the middle, and style controls on the right.

Choose a theme: Stellar or Bright

Click Theme in the editor header and pick a Style:

• Stellar — dark, modern, high-contrast, with a green accent and a subtle glow. The look of the ResiPage marketing site.
• Bright — light and warm, with deep purple type, tilted pill labels, and a signature yellow for buttons.

Switching themes never touches your content. Your blocks, text, images, and layout all stay exactly where they are — only the styling changes. So you can build your page once and try both looks freely.

Adding blocks

Drag any block from the left panel onto the page. There are three groups:

• ResiPage — designer-made, on-brand sections: Hero, Section Heading, Feature Cards, Stat Row, Call to Action, Quote, Availability Card, Split (Image + Text), Two Cards, Badge Row, Sticker Note, Q&A List, Testimonials, and a scrolling Skill Marquee. There is also a ★ Starter Page block that drops in a complete hero → features → call-to-action layout in one go.
• My Resume — live sections wired to your dashboard data: About, Experience, Education, Skills, Portfolio, Languages, and Certifications.
• Layout & Basic — plain building blocks: sections, 2- and 3-column rows, headings, text, images, buttons, dividers, and spacers.

Live resume sections stay in sync

Blocks from the My Resume group are not copies of your data — they are live. Add a new job in the Experience page and your published Canvas page updates on its own. You never have to re-enter anything or re-publish to pick up a content change.

Select one of these blocks to set its Heading and a Max items limit (0 shows everything).

Adding your own images

Blocks that hold a photo — Split (Image + Text) and the Testimonials avatars — show a soft gradient placeholder until you fill them.

1. Double-click the image.
2. Drag a file into the panel that opens, or click to browse your computer.
3. Pick it from your library to place it.

Uploaded images are stored in your asset library, so you can reuse one across several blocks. Images can be up to 8MB each (JPG, PNG, WebP, or GIF), and you can upload several at once. You can also paste an image URL instead of uploading.

Colors, fonts, and the page background

The Theme panel in the header controls the whole page at once:

• Accent color — headings, links, skill bars, icons, and list checks.
• Highlight — buttons and the marker underline. On Bright this is the signature yellow; on Stellar it follows the accent.
• Heading and body fonts.
• Page background — a solid color, or upload an image and choose Cover, Contain, or Tile. Use default returns to the theme's own background.

To style one element instead of the whole page, click it and use the panel on the right — font, size, color, spacing, borders, and dimensions. Those tweaks override the theme.

Previewing and publishing

Use the Desktop / Tablet / Mobile switch in the header to check how your page reflows before you publish.

Your work auto-saves as a private draft — nothing you do in the editor appears on your public page until you click Publish. The header shows Unpublished changes whenever your draft is ahead of what visitors see.
