Employer Outreach with Prospects

How to use the Prospects feature to send targeted outreach emails with your resume, track when recipients open them, and receive replies.

Prospects is a Pro feature that turns ResiPage into a direct outreach tool. Instead of sending your resume as an attachment, you send a personalised email that includes a tracked link to your ResiPage — you can see when the recipient opens it, and they can reply directly from a branded reply page without needing an email client.

Prospects is available on the Pro plan only. You will see an upgrade prompt if you are on the Free plan.

Opening the Prospects Page

Go to Dashboard → Prospects. The page is split into a compose form on the left and an outreach history table on the right.

Composing an Outreach Email

Fill in the fields in the compose form:

  • Recipient Name — the hiring manager's or recruiter's first name (used in the email greeting and reply page).
  • Recipient Email — the address the email is sent to.
  • Company — the company name (used in the subject line and AI-drafted cover letter).
  • Subject / Role — the job title or subject line for the email.
  • Cover Letter — the body text of the email. Keep it concise — 2–4 short paragraphs works best. The greeting (Dear [Name],) and sign-off (Best regards, [Your Name]) are added automatically.

Using the AI to Draft Your Cover Letter

Click the Draft with AI wand button next to the Cover Letter field. ResiPage sends your profile data (name, title, work history, education) along with the recipient, company, and role you've entered to the AI, which generates a professional 3–4 paragraph cover letter in seconds. Edit it as you see fit before sending.

Fill in Company and Subject / Role before clicking Draft with AI — the more context you give, the more targeted and relevant the draft will be.

Sending the Outreach

Click Send. ResiPage sends an email from the platform to the recipient. The email includes:

  • Your cover letter text (with greeting and sign-off).
  • A View Resume button that links to a special tracking URL. When the recipient clicks it, their view is recorded and they are redirected to your public ResiPage. They also automatically gain access to your contact details — no separate access request needed.
  • A Reply button that opens a clean, branded reply form on resipage.com — no email app required.

Tracking Status

Every sent prospect appears in the outreach history table with one of three statuses:

  • Sent — the email was delivered but the recipient has not yet clicked the View Resume link.
  • Viewed — the recipient clicked your resume link. The timestamp of their first view is recorded.
  • Replied — the recipient submitted a reply through the branded reply form. Their reply text appears in the history table row and you receive an email notification.
Status updates from Viewed and Replied happen automatically in real time — refresh the page or check back later. You do not need to do anything to enable tracking.

Receiving a Reply

When a recipient replies, you receive an email notification with their reply text. Their reply also appears inline in the Prospects history table — click the row to expand the full reply. Their name, email, company, and message are all displayed so you can follow up directly from your own email client.

The Recipient's Experience

The recipient sees a clean email on ResiPage's behalf. If they click Reply, they are taken to a public, no-login-required page at resipage.com/reply/[token]. The page shows your avatar and name at the top, and a simple text reply form. Their reply goes directly to your Prospects inbox.

The reply page is branded and professional — it reinforces your name and face before the recruiter types their response, which helps keep you memorable in a busy hiring process.

Best Practices

  • Personalise every email. Even a small tweak to the cover letter for each company makes a measurable difference in response rates.
  • Keep it brief. Hiring managers skim. Three short paragraphs is ideal — who you are, why this company, and a clear CTA to view your resume.
  • Follow up on Views. When a status changes to Viewed, the recipient is actively interested. This is a good moment to send a follow-up email directly from your email client while your resume is fresh in their mind.
  • Make sure your page is Live. Before sending any prospect email, confirm that your Live / Offline toggle is set to Live — otherwise the recipient will see a placeholder page instead of your resume.
